Good design requires bold vision and editing of ideas. Good design requires rigor and playfulness. It requires fine tuned listening skills and the ability to work closely with clients, project consultants and contractors to reach identified goals.
Over the years I have worked as an architect and interior designer, I have developed an approach that emphasizes the dynamic synthesis of rooms, building and site. I design to solve problems creatively and to enrich the way life is lived in the new or renovated space.
The language I use is shown through the selection of simple but timeless materials and shapes. I pay special attention to use of natural materials such as stone and wood. Design of details is both functional and elegant. Spaces created take account of nature, emphasizing components like daylight, site topography and orientation. These are the things that make a project truly special.
Whenever possible I recommend sustainable solutions, usually in selection of technologically advanced products and site planning. Simple decisions using efficient new technology and natural attributes of a site can make a big difference in the way rooms in a building function and use energy.
I am committed to providing clients with a collaborative, responsive design approach, and guiding clients through a project utilizing best practices. My scope of services includes site planning, design of new buildings and additions, renovations, interior design and design of custom furniture.
